Very rarely do I meet my couple for the first time on their wedding day. Typically I do engagement photos for my couples, or we at least meet up for an initial consult. If I am being honest, there is a little bit of anxiety not meeting beforehand, because I have no idea what to expect. But my stress quickly melted away when meeting Cat and Reed! They were totally lovely to work with. The nicest, most gracious people. So in love and natural in front of the camera too. A true pleasure to work with for their Shupe Homestead wedding last summer.
Not only was it my first time meeting Cat and Reed, but it was also my first time working at Shupe Homestead. What an awesome venue, practically in my backyard! There are not all that many Longmont wedding venues, so it’s always awesome finding ones that I love working at. I sure hope it won’t be my last wedding at Shupe. The property has mountain views, a nice pond, a beautifully manicured yard, rustic buildings, and fun little vignettes (like the tree full of chandeliers)!
There is no denying that Cat and Reed had a picture perfect wedding day! Some of my favorite parts of their day included how emotional Cat got reading the letter and opening the thoughtful gift from her soon-to-be husband. I also loved Cat’s “something blue” Converse. Their fun and packed dance floor was really the icing on the cake…so much fun! And I learned a new drinking game lol!! This was the first time I heard of the “Thunderstruck” drinking game. Where have I been? Ok, ok, back to the wedding itself. The couple’s first touch was another highlight of their day. Not sure what a first touch is? It’s like a first look, only without actually seeing each other. This allowed Cat and Reed a chance to talk, and hold hands before the ceremony began, but without ruining the surprise!
Reed is a police officer, how adorable is this sign?! So unique!!
I absolutely love these shots under the tree chandeliers! They are definitely some favorites from Cat & Reed’s Shupe Homestead wedding photos.
Caught them outside during dinner practicing their dance moves one more time!! They nailed it 🙂
This is probably my favorite wedding party photo of 2019! I noticed it was even featured on the venue’s website…woo hoo!
Thanks so much Cat and Reed for allowing me to capture photos from your awesome wedding day! I loved every minute of working together. I hope your first year of marriage has been a wonderful one. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together!
