Jessica and Lucas were such a sweet, loving couple that I had the privilege of working with in 2019, and 2020 alike! For their engagement photos, they really wanted something unique. So, we met up at the Boulder County Fairgrounds while the fair was in town. Pre-Covid days obviously :'( This shouldn’t come as a big surprise, but I just love capturing Colorado fair engagement photos. The number one reason, you may ask? Hands down, all of the beautiful colors!! We did have to maneuver around people a bit though, as it was super packed this evening. The busyness I would say, is the one negative with engagement portraits at public events like this.

One of my favorite parts from Lucas and Jessica’s session was them participating in carnival activities. They rode the bumper cars, played the ring toss with the toy ducks, and enjoyed some cotton candy! I also loved the photos as the sun was setting, and the ride lights were turned on. The lights just made the session that much more magical! They love the carousel, but too bad the lights on it were not working on this evening. We still had to get a few smooches in front of it!

I know the road to your wedding day was a very tough one, between Covid and the fires, but that turned out really beautifully too!
