Here it is (finally), my last wedding of 2019. A much simpler time for weddings…pre-covid craziness!! I had so much fun capturing these Boulder wedding photos for Ashley and Nate. This was the first time I did a wedding at the Hotel Boulderado, and it’s a really great spot for a classy, vintage-inspired wedding. Ashley and Nate’s wedding was in December, so the hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays! The giant Christmas tree was a picture-perfect backdrop for their indoor ceremony. Besides photos around the hotel, we also spent a lot of time over on the University of Colorado campus. They are CU alum (as am I), so it was so special to share their first look and their romantic couple’s portraits there.
I have known Ashley’s mom, Sally, for many years now. We use to work together at Mile High Banks in Longmont. We have kept in touch on Facebook, and now I have had the pleasure of capturing both of her daughters’ beautiful weddings 🙂 Ashley’s sister, Allison, got married over 4 years ago at Lionsgate Event Center.
Check those photos out HERE!
Some of my favorite memories from this winter wedding celebration were all of the Christmas decorations all over the Boulderado. I loved incorporating them into the details photos, and as mentioned already, the tree was a very impressive ceremony backdrop 🙂 I also really loved how the snow had such perfect timing, and gave stunning winter wonderland vibes during our campus portrait time. Especially the photo with the ladies holding umbrellas…swoon, so pretty! Ashley and Nate’s sweet ceremony included some fun audience participation too, that was another highlight of the day. Lastly, the lively dance floor was such a hoot to photograph! There was hair whipping around left and right, kids and adults alike sliding on the dance floor, and even a printout of an absent guest’s face on a stick, floating around and dancing with the guests lol! Such a fun and memorable day.
The guys decided to walk over to CU. Which isn’t really far, but when trying to stay on a detailed timeline, the ladies and I were a little worried! It ended up working out just fine, thankfully 🙂
Ashley did a quick first look with her bridesmaids, and then we were off to our beautiful Boulder campus!
This is one of my favorites of their wintery Boulder wedding photos. Funny thing is, it was the last bride and groom portrait of the day. I just love backlighting into an umbrella, to really show off the snowflakes!
Thank you so much Ashley and Nate, for trusting me with your precious memories! I hope you love and treasure these images always 🙂 Ashley, all the best with your new venture in the wedding industry yourself. I hope you find as much joy as a wedding planner/coordinator, as I do as a photographer. How fun would it be to work a wedding together someday? Fingers crossed!
