Years and years ago, I photographed the Foss family at the Breckenridge Sawmill Museum. They had found the location during a visit up there, and so I hadn’t even realized the name of this location. I also had not been back since! When we were planning Jessica and Dave’s Breckenridge engagement photography session, they knew they really wanted colorful fall foliage. I arrived in Summit County a few hours early, since none of us had been up there very recently, in order to find some peak fall colors. First, I checked out Boreas Pass Trailhead. It was packed though, and there was next to no fall color left. I checked out other spots along Boreas Pass Road. Then randomly turned onto this little dirt road, and instantly remembered this location. With Jessica and Dave we did a lot more exploring, and I saw all the great options that the Sawmill Museum offers!
Now, don’t let the word museum confuse you, this is nothing like a traditional, indoor museum. It’s really, an open space park trailhead, with some rustic structures and old railroad equipment. We also found a little wooden bridge and fences, open fields, and great mountain views. And can we talk about these beautiful aspen groves?! The area didn’t get its nickname “aspen alley” for nothing, that was sure clear! The only thing lovelier than the fall foliage was this stunning couple! Jessica and Dave were super sweet, and really fun to work with too 🙂 They learned of my business a few years ago at the first and only real bridal show that I have participated in, at the Grant Humphrey’s Mansion. I chatted with many couples that day, I am so glad to have booked the best one there!
Champagne toast and picnic during your mountain engagement pictures?! Yes please! These were so fun, and turned out pretty cute too 🙂
This is easily one of my favorites from Jessica and Dave’s Breckenridge engagement photography session! That dress is stunning on her, and floating like a DREAM beneath those aspens!! I even had this printed on canvas for my home office.
Didn’t Jessica and Dave select some really amazing outfits for their session? Their clothing was flattering, colorful, Jessica incorporated some fun accessories, and they also had a great mix of dressy and casual options! Well done guys 🙂 If you are searching for even more engagement photography clothing inspiration, check out my Pinterest board HERE. Stop by the blog this weekend for even more “Fallorado” goodness (fall + Colorado = Fallorado)! The Politte family at South Mesa Trail in Boulder and Jackie’s mountain senior session at Brainard Lake. Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
