Happy Monday! I hope the weekend was wonderful for you all. Today on the blog I bring to you Samantha and Reid’s Our Lady of the Valley and Pelican Lakes wedding photos. Both of these ceremony and reception locations were new to me! As far as capturing wedding photos that is. I had actually been a guest at a friend’s wedding at the Pelican Lakes Golf Course. That was very different though, as that was an indoor ballroom reception, whereas Samantha and Reid had a larger tented reception.
Samantha and Reid’s wedding was my first big event after covid lockdowns and when photography businesses were forced to close as non-essential businesses. It felt good to see so many smiles, and people hugging and twirling on the dance floor! Some of the most memorable parts of the day were the crazy wind and rain storm that came literally out of nowhere. People were scrambling to close the sides of the tent, to bring all the tables and decorations fully inside the tent. It was stressful for a bit, but it passed just as quickly as it came. Everyone was thankful for that…the party could resume! Also memorable was the amazing sunset that the storm brought along with it. Finally, all of the emotion of the day. There were many tearful sweet moments, during the toasts, and especially during the father-daughter dance.
One of the examples of how much I like having a second shooter along. I was up nice and close getting shots of Samantha and Reid, while my second shooter is way far out getting a unique wide angle perspective. I love the variety it provides!
Saving the best for last! I love this dip shot over the lake at sunset. Definitely a favorite from their Pelican Lakes wedding photos! 
Thank you Samantha and Reid for allowing me to capture your wedding photos! I hope you will cherish these photos forever. Your wedding day was beautiful, and so full of joy and love! It was wonderful to feel a little bit of normalcy after so many pandemic wedding cancellations and major event downsizing. One year down…a lifetime to go 🙂 I hope you are all doing well!
