Meet Rylee! Her Mead Colorado senior portraits were some of the most elaborate I have captured in quite some time. But they were a total blast! I have photographed this beauty (and her family) before, as well as three times since this session. Rylee wanted a lot of variety for her photos. We totally made that happen! Four locations, nine outfits and two jackets, incorporating two of her athletic interests. Not surprising, we got an absolute ton of images. With so much going on, and only so many hours of daylight, I set a series of alarms on my phone to keep us on schedule. As well as some buffer time built in to account for traffic. Everything came together beautifully, and I am so thrilled about that!
First, we met at the Roosevelt Park Rose Gardens in Longmont. This got us a little bit of nature, and a whole lot of color and femininity in the photos. Rylee started out in a vibrant yellow dress. Then changed into a flowy light pink skirt and white top. I love the way that skirt photographed and complimented the rose garden backdrop. That was definitely one of my favorite outfits from the day!
Next, we decided on an urban setting. So we headed over to Prospect New Town in south Longmont. I really love this hidden gem location. Photographing over there for all these years, I have only ever seen one other photographer over there. I love all of the colors and funky walls at this location. It gives a ton of options in a one mile loop through this neighborhood. 4 outfits in Prospect…off white romper, cropped jeans and a floral kimono type top, striped shorts with black top, and finally a plaid skirt with a black top. With that many outfit changes at this one destination, we only had time for a handful of shots in each.
Off to Mead High School to capture some soccer photos on her school’s field!
Two outfits at the high school, cropped jeans and her soccer jersey. Followed by those same cropped jeans and a simple white tee. We incorporated her letter jacket into some of the photos on the school’s bleachers. For the soccer photos we had some with the net of the soccer goal and one of her soccer balls.
Lastly, we headed to the community swimming pool for the Barefoot Lakes housing development in Firestone. That is where Rylee worked at the time as a life guard. She got special permission to use the pool after their regular hours for her swimming senior portraits. I absolutely adored how these swimming pool photos turned out! The golden hour and sunset lighting added to the beauty of these photos. I loved Rylee’s vibrant swimsuit, and we added her goggles in for a few shots as well. We shot through every last bit of light, and whew was I tired! I felt like I shot a wedding day or something lol! So worth being a little tired, and the sticky hot afternoon/evening we got, for this incredible Colorado senior photography experience.
This is definitely one of my favorites from these Mead Colorado senior portraits! Love that golden hour lighting and the fun pose looking through the net 🙂
Thank you Rylee…it was such a memorable and fun afternoon together! I don’t think I will ever forget this senior session. I hope you are enjoying your first year at Colorado State University. Looking forward to hopefully having you and your sweet family in front of my camera again sometime. On the blog tomorrow, the Hamann family’s Sapphire Point and Windy Point Campground photo session. See you then!
