Emily + Tyler | CU Boulder Engagement Photos | Gross Reservoir Colorado

My husband has known these two for many years, and they have all worked together at some point over the years. When they got engaged, they remembered that I did photography and so they reached out. I was so thrilled when they decided to hire me for their Lodge at Breckenridge wedding. They selected a wedding package that included an engagement session. Three out of four of my wedding packages do include an engagement session…these are some of my absolute favorite shoots! Like my husband and I, Emily and Tyler are University of Colorado alum. Unlike my husband and I though, they met on campus. They wanted to include this special location into their session. We could not have asked for a better evening for these CU Boulder engagement photos.

There are endless amounts of pretty spots on campus, but I usually suggest shooting around the ponds and bridge by McKenna Languages building. As well as the spiral staircase at Old Main and the cool doors of Macky Auditorium. After all these great spots, we went over to Farrand Field and Farrand Hall, where these two first met. Then, we headed out of Boulder a little ways to the amazing Gross Reservoir.

Gross Reservoir is a really great location as well! It boasts mountain “lake” views, lots of pine trees, rock outcroppings, a small wooden bridge, and even a few aspen groves that look incredible during the fall season. We practically had the whole place to ourselves, which was wonderful. And although we didn’t get a really epic sunset, the sky was still pretty awesome in all it’s dramatic golden goodness!

This is definitely one of my favorites from their CU Boulder and Gross Reservoir engagement photos! Love these vibrant colors and that golden hour lighting.

I am excited to also share Emily and Tyler’s wedding photos with you all as well. I would say soon, but it will probably still be awhile since I have a ridiculous amount of blog posts to share in the coming months.
