Ariana + Cam | Ice Skating Engagement Photos | Evergreen Colorado Photographer

Ariana and Cam were the lucky winners of my first ever holiday giveaway for a free photo shoot! They were engaged already and hadn’t yet had an engagement photo shoot. They were planning an out-of-state wedding, but they really wanted a winter engagement session in the mountains. Ariana was friends/acquaintances with Imani, and she absolutely loved the session I did with Imani and Logan. Ice skating engagement photos were also very fitting because Cam was a hockey player and at home on the ice. Ariana didn’t have as much practice ice skating, but she did great! She even bought some cute white skates, since they aren’t readily available to rent around here.

We met in the parking lot of Wendy’s in Evergreen so that they could follow me to our first destination. As I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed a cool wooden bridge. We started the photos there…because why not?! It’s funny that photographers are always “scouting locations” as they are driving around new places. You never know where you will spot a great photo opp! Next we went to the nearby Elk Meadows Park for some shots with snowy mountain views. Our final destination was Buchanan Ponds. That was really the only ice skating option I could find in early December. Many other spots planned to open later that month. That ended up totally ok! The spot was pretty and we got some amazing stuff.

This is definitely one of my favorites from Ariana and Cam’s ice skating engagement photos. Taking the traditional dip photo up a major notch with that leg up, and on ice skates!

Thanks you two for such a fun session! I hope that married life is treating you well, and you are finding opportunities to do lots of fun activities together…like ice skating!
