Today on the blog the beautiful Miss Kiana. She is the daughter of one of my Longmont High School classmates and friends. How are we even old enough to have children that are graduating from high school LOL?! We met at Frosberg Park for her senior pictures in Colorado.
Springtime isn’t typically a popular time of year for senior portraits, since most school deadlines are in the fall. Kiana attended an online high school, so we weren’t under the same restrictions as some other senior clients. Spring is also very unpredictable here, especially in the mountains. We could have had an absolutely freezing, snowy day, but we totally lucked out. Yes, there were times when Kiana was cold, but it could have been easily been half the temperature and windy. It was a mild and sunny afternoon. I was so delighted with the photos we were able to capture together with such cooperative weather.
Kiana is a special and incredible young woman! For a teenager, she seems to have a very strong sense of who she is in this world. And it was an amazing thing to witness. Far too often teens are not yet comfortable in their own skin, but Kiana totally is. When I asked what her plans were after high school, she indicated she wanted to go to school to be a sex therapist someday. That was not an answer I have ever received before. But how awesome that she already has such a clear path laid out, and a path that’s as unique as she is.
Kiana completely rocked her own eclectic style. I love her long dreads! She wore her combat boots with each of her three outfits. She started in a colorful, floral sundress, it looked feminine and beautiful. Next she wore a short black dress, with a fun tiered skirt. Finally, she ended in her trendy bell bottom jeans and fitted long sleeve top. What a gorgeous woman, that made my job pretty easy!
This is one of my favorites from these senior pictures in Colorado. I just love that sweet, playful expression and that beautiful spring sunshine!
Thanks so much Kiana. You were a delight on and off camera! I know you and your sister are your mom’s biggest joys in life. I am excited to keep in touch with her and see what your adult life has in store for you. Keep that great smile on your face…and that will take you far! Next on the blog, Andrea and Zach’s Rocky Mountain National Park engagement photos. The rain came, and these two embraced it for some fun and great shots 🙂
