Nothing like getting today’s blog post published in the last few moments of the day! This week has been exhausting, but not particularly productive. I have a kiddo with a terrible cough and he’s been home with me ALL WEEK! It has been quite sometime since he’s been with me 24/7, and I am tired. Sure wish it was already Friday. Anyway, for Thursday’s share I am bringing you Andrea and Zach’s RMNP engagement photos. We captured these photos on a cool and cloudy spring day. The rain even made an appearance, but these two totally embraced it! Andrea didn’t care about her hair getting messed up or anything. We got some sweet and tender portraits in the rain. Then they even danced in the rain a bit!
For their engagement portraits we visited two of the many popular photo locations in the park. Firstly, Moriane Park. I love the mountain views at this location, as well as the river running through it. And on this visit, as with most visits here, there are typically elk in the background at this location. It was definitely an overcast day, which I was not mad at! I love the sun of course, but sometimes it’s so sunny at Moraine Park that it makes it a real challenge to bring the mountains out well in the photos. Not a problem on a cloudy day. As long as it’s not overly dreary and gray, I am a happy photographer when I get some clouds in the sky 😊 We got a great mix of smiley and romantic portraits, as well as playful candids and movement in their matching Patagonia!
Then we headed out to continue our session at Sprague Lake.
At Sprague Lake Andrea and Zach made a quick outfit change. Andrea had a cute yellow floral dress, with a dark denim jacket over top, and some cute camel-colored wedges. She looked great, and it was a great spring outfit. Zach coordinated well in tan slacks and a blue button down. It rained for most of the photos at this location. But you know what? These are some of my overall favorites from their engagement session. You just can’t let a little rain ruin this once in a lifetime photo session…and they definitely didn’t!
Saving one of my favorites of their RMNP engagement photos for last! Had to add a flash and backlight the rain since it produces such a cool effect!
I will be sharing Andrea and Zach’s Lionscrest wedding photos on the blog as well, in the next few weeks. Check back for those! Working with these two is always so wonderful. They are so very sweet and playful together. They are easy-going and were up for trying anything I asked of them…my kind people for sure! Next on the blog, a college graduation cap and gown session at Colorado State University with Bryanna.
For another Rocky Mountain National Park session I loved, check out Katrina and Brian HERE!
