The Filer Family | Longmont Spring Family Pictures | Colorado Portrait Photography

Meet the Filer family! I had the pleasure of capturing these Longmont spring family pictures last year. They really, really wanted blossoming trees for their family portraits. I scouted all around and found some decent crab apple blossoming trees at Roosevelt Park, and by the Canary apartments in Longmont. We lucked out with a gorgeous evening session, and were able to get some decent looking flowering trees in there as well. Most people think these are cherry blossoms. We, however, don’t have much in the way of cherry trees in this state. But what we do have, and is still super beautiful, are the crap apple trees. They show off some picturesque blossoms in various shades of white, pale pink, and even fuchsia. I love the blossoming trees, and wish I could book way more sessions in the spring to show them off!

I have shot at Roosevelt Park multiple times over the years. It doesn’t have endless amounts of variety or anything. But it is a really great option for clients that are looking for a pretty garden setting in Boulder County. It’s got these blossoming trees in the spring, roses in every color imaginable throughout the summer, and some fall foliage during autumn. I don’t think I have ever seen another photographer over there when I have been there. So safe to say, it remains a hidden gem for now! It would worked very well for the Filer family’s session, and we practically had the place to ourselves. We ventured over to 3rd avenue for a few final photos near the Canary apartments. This area was a little challenging with the close proximity to a very busy road. But there were a few huge blossoming trees that were so gorgeous, they were worth capturing some photos with. All in all, I think the photos showed off this adorable family and these beautiful flowering trees very well. Now’s the time to get your own spring session on the calendar!
