Jess and Jon were a ton of fun to work with for their RMNP summer engagement photos. What a sunny and gorgeous day at Moraine Park and Sprague Lake. Hopefully you aren’t sick of seeing these locations yet! I recommend numerous locations to couples and often these locations are selected. But we cannot exactly blame them…they are stunning! I am so excited for Jess and Jon’s Lionscrest Manor wedding in June. Just like Rocky Mointain National Park, I don’t know if I can ever get sick of taking photos at Lionscrest Manor 😉
This session was really great. These two are easy-going, have a wonderful demeanor together, and are pretty cute on camera too! We got a great variety of romantic portraits, more traditional “smiling at the camera” shots, fun candid moments. And we even got some comical “outtakes”. I included one below…so slow your scroll!
Jess and Jon kept it fairly simple, two locations, two outfits. I don’t really limit outfit changes, but when clients have like 5+, the time in each outfit is really limited and outfit changes themselves can eat up a lot of minutes. So two solid outfits is great in my book. They started out in their dressier option. Jess had a dark floral dress and cute wedges. Jon had a nice button down and dress pants. When we moved over to Sprague Lake, they switched into their neutral, casual looks. Jess wore a white tank top and jeans. Jon opted for a gray polo shirt with jeans as well. These classic, neutral colors worked well with any and every backdrop I put them in front of.
I don’t know if I can pick just one favorite from their RMNP summer engagement photos, but this is definitely one of them! Beautiful couple in a beautiful scene…love it!
Sometimes during a session I will give little prompts to get some more natural reactions and moments. I have used the prompt “kiss her in 3 places that are not her lips” numerous times before. Never have I gotten a foot kiss. And especially bringing her leg up to him…while she’s in a dress. LOL!! We were all cracking up. Jess was definitely taken by surprise!
Thanks Jess and Jon. This was a great afternoon and made me even more excited for the wedding in a few short months! Next on the blog, Allyson and Chris’ mountain maternity photos at Mount Falcon West. I just love when past clients hire me again to capture the other major milestones in their lives. This was another former engagement and wedding couple of mine. And they are on my calendar yet again in a few months for their daughter’s first birthday. That is always so special to me to work with clients again and again!
