Allyson and Chris are my kind of people! They are so easy-going, gracious, and always such a joy to photograph. Their Colorado mountain maternity pictures were no exception. We met up at the beautiful Jefferson County open space park Mount Falcon West. I hadn’t been to this location during spring. Besides being a bit muddy, it worked very well. We got a ton of variety! With a little bit of snow, and a little bit of sun, we got photos that felt summery and some that felt like winter. I guess that’s spring in Colorado for you though! 80° and sunny one day, snow the next. It keeps us on our toes!
Allyson and Chris opted for two outfits during their photo session. Allyson started in a beautiful off-white cotton maternity dress, with lace arms and neckline. She looked so radiant! Chris wore jeans and a black polo shirt. These first outfits were very neutral and allowed the background colors to really shine. Allyson’s second maternity dress was one of my favorites to date! She looked so amazing in this mustard yellow, efflorescent crochet lace overlay dress. I sure wish I could pull off yellow! Never though…my fair skin with red undertones, and goldish blonde hair just doesn’t work with yellow. AT. ALL. Chris complimented his wife very well with a blue button down and jeans. These two have such a easy, natural chemistry together it made my job that much more enjoyable.
This is one of my favorites of these Colorado mountain maternity pictures. That mountain scenery, that dress, those expressions of pure happiness and anticipation. I love it!
Allyson and Chris, thank you again for allowing me to capture this amazing milestone in your lives. I know you have waited for a long time for your precious baby girl. Seriously cannot wait to meet precious miss Maddie in less than two months for your next photo session. I sure enjoy every opportunity I have to work with you guys, and hope we can continue working together for many years to come 😊 Andrea and Zach’s Lionscrest Manor wedding is up on the blog next.
