One more day of the month, one more blog post to share! This is another special one for me, as I have known the bride since she was born. She is also the only client I have captured both high school senior photos for, as well as wedding photos. Presenting Alyssa and Branden’s Oaks at Plum Creek wedding photos. This was my first time shooting at this venue, but hopefully not my last. There is a lot to like about the Oaks at Plum Creek. But I’ve got to say, their bridal suite and groom getting ready rooms are unbeatable.
The bridal suite at the Oaks is gigantic! It’s probably the size of some people’s apartments 😉 It’s decorated with trendy, boho decor, and even has a bed that hangs from the ceiling and swings. The guys’ getting ready room is great too! Most venues have one decent getting ready room, and one that’s the size of a closet LOL! Here the men have adequate room to stretch out and get comfy, and even a golf simulator to get some practice in before the wedding day festivities begin.
The Oaks at Plum Creek also has two cool, modern spaces for the reception events. And the large, mature trees make for a great outdoor ceremony backdrop as well. Way more than just the venue to like about Alyssa and Branden’s wedding day though! Again, I have known this family since I was in elementary school, so I just love them as people. They treat me like family when working with them, so that’s always such a wonderful feeling too. Alyssa shared the absolutely sweetest first look with her dad and brother before the ceremony. There were many laughs and tears of joy, I loved every minute of it! Some other memorable moments from the day was Alyssa popping and spraying champagne with her ladies. Those were some really cool photos too!
Alyssa’s brother, Taylor, was their officiant. Talk about special and personal! I know he was nervous, but did such an incredible job!
Alyssa and Branden are such a fun couple, and surround themselves with fun people. The dance floor was packed, and an absolute blast! Their bridal party was a super fun group too. Sometimes you have a grumpy groomsmen, that just doesn’t want to participate in group photos, or complains the whole time. Not with this group though! They were easy-going and up for whatever we asked. In fact, I knew this group would help me bring one of my ideas to life. For a long while I was wanting to do a “race for the beer” groomsmen photo series. Before this, I just hadn’t found the right group for it. These guys were awesome though…and I loved the way these hilarious photos turned out!
This is definitely one of my favorites from their Oaks at Plum Creek wedding photos. Love that sweet, tender moment under Alyssa’s veil…and that gorgeous light is the icing on the cake!
Alyssa and Branden, it was my true honor to capture these wedding photos for you. Alyssa it’s been so wonderful playing a role throughout many parts of your life! Your babysitter when you were little. Next, your dance teacher as a young teen. Then your high school senior photographer in the beginning of my career. And finally, now your wedding photographer as an adult. I love this so much…you are such a special person to me! Wishing you both a lifetime of fun memories and adventures together. Well, I am going to try to continue to blog in the new month, but June is going to be absolutely crazy around here! So I won’t be surprised if the blog goes extremely quiet again. Someday maybe I can balance all of the things LOL! Have a wonderful summer friends 🙂
