Happy fall y’all!! Today on the blog, I am bringing you beautiful Miss Kayla. I have actually known Kayla’s parents since college, and even met her when she was a toddler. Well, she has sure grown up since then! She is a beauty, and very sweet and polite too. She was such a natural in front of the camera for her Boulder senior photo session. I, for one, was sure thrilled with the results. So much great variety!
For Kayla’s session we decided to go to the always popular South Mesa Trail in Boulder. I have shot at this location a ton, and it is super popular year round. But after seeing the photos you should understand why it’s such a great location. Wide open golden fields, unique wooden bridge, old stone building, and those iconic Boulder flatirons. I do personally prefer this flatirons location over Chautauqua Park down the road. South Mesa Trail has so many little “photo vignettes”, it’s an ideal spot for a Boulder senior photography session.
Kayla kept things pretty simple with just two outfits for her session. Although I don’t limit the number of outfits my clients can wear. When seniors want to squeeze in six (or sometimes more) outfits, it does eat up a lot of time, and you get far less images in each outfit. Kayla looked equally great in both this feminine floral dress, as well as the white shorts and patterned black and white top.

This is definitely one of my favorites of Kayla’s Boulder senior portraits. Who knew sitting in a field of long grasses, doing nothing, could look so beautiful?! Like I said…she was a complete natural in front of the camera!

Not everyone is willing to lay on the ground to get the shot. I am sure glad Kayla was! I did make it the last shot of the day at least. That way if she got dirt or bugs in her hair or on her clothes we were done and she could go home and change…or perhaps even shower. Suddenly my scalp is itchy LOL!

Thank you Kayla! I hope your first year of adulthood has been treating you well 😉 It was so wonderful to catch up with you and your mom. You were amazing to photograph and I hope I get an opportunity to have you in front of my lens again someday 🙂 Email me at plumprettyphoto@gmail.com to get your own Colorado senior session on the calendar now!
