The Belen Family | Denver Family Portraits | Cheesman Park Colorado

Today on the blog I am bringing you the lovely Belen family. We met at the pavilion at Cheesman Park for their Denver family portraits. While I shoot in Denver a fair amount, it seems to be rarely for family photos. Not sure why? I guess most of the families I book decide to select a mountain or nature location over something in the city. Cheesman is a cool spot! The pavilion is really pretty. Then there are a ton of trees and flowers all around, as well as benches to give some variety. The only big negative is how busy it gets, especially on the weekends. I admit I had to edit a whole lot of people out of the background of some of these wide-angle shots.

This was my first time working with the Belen family. They were such a sweet and wonderful family! Kyra’s mom is actually the person that found and hired me. So I didn’t have a lot of interaction with them beforehand. But it all worked out beautifully, and I love the variety in the photos we got of the three of them. The Belens looked great in varying shades of burgundy for their fall family session. That was a really nice color against all of the greens of the trees and grass, and the ivory and yellow of the pavilion.

Although I have shot at Cheesman Park a few times, I had never noticed this “tree arch”. These guys actually found this cool little spot while scouting out the location before we got together for our photo session. I loved it!

Last photo of the day was one of my favorites from their Denver family portraits. Such a joyful expression while laying in the crunchy, fall leaves 🙂 And those missing teeth…so cute!!
