Raziya | Colorado Quinceañera Photoshoot | Winter Park Photographer

This session was one for the books! Raziya and her family were visiting from Florida and she wanted photos in the snow. Wow, did she get it! Her Colorado quinceañera photoshoot looked as if we were taking photos inside a snow globe LOL! You couldn’t totally see the mountains, and she was truly freezing. But we got some really magical stuff together. I know they were thrilled with the end result and I was thrilled to have captured my first quinceañera session.

For Raziya’s session we decided on the trails behind Devil’s Thumb Ranch. I really love this spot! It’s scenic and really close and convenient to my in-laws cabin near Tabernash. Which is my “home base” when I am shooting up in Grand County. Raziya picked out this absolutely stunning mauve quinceañera dress. This had a sweetheart neckline, corset top. The poofy bottom had unique ruching in horizontal stripes. I haven’t seen a ton of quinceañera dresses, but this is the prettiest one I have ever seen! Hands down…so stunning! She finished it with sparkly dangling earrings and a crystal tiara.

A quinceañera is the celebration of a girl’s 15th birthday, marking her passage from girlhood to womanhood; the term is also used for the celebrant herself. The quinceañera is both a religious and a social event that emphasizes the importance of family and society in the life of a young woman. It is celebrated in Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean, as well as in Latino communities in the United States and elsewhere.

Thanks so much Raziya! I won’t soon forget your epic session. Thanks for being such a trooper in the freezing conditions. I hope you had the best fifteenth birthday celebration in sunny Florida and will cherish these snow globe photos for years to come.
