Moening + Wilderom Families | Winter Park Family Photos | Colorado Portrait Photographer

I have taken photos for the Moening family before, last summer at Devil’s Thumb Ranch near Winter Park. They own a place up there, near the Winter Park ski resort and they were visiting just after Christmas with another family friends of theirs. They decided they wanted to do some snowy Winter Park family photos outside of their condo. I happen to be in town for Evan and Gracie’s amazing surprise proposal (see those HERE!), so that worked out great!

They wanted really snowy photos…boy did they get them! I couldn’t believe how much snow was on the ground. These Texans were getting pretty cold towards the end, so it wasn’t a long session. But we did manage to get some great stuff! We got full group shots of all of them, couple’s photos, siblings photos, and the Moening family alone, and the Wilderom family alone. I really tried to get a mix of smiling at the camera photos, as well as more candid, playing in the snow pictures. Perhaps in the middle of a sweltering Texas summer they can look back on these chilly Colorado memories and feel a little cooler 😉

The Moening and Wilderom families went casual with their outfits. Everything did their own thing! But it totally worked for this low-key family session. The Moenings all wore jeans, and beanies. That tied them all together quite well. The Wilderom parents wore jeans and black tops/jackets. Their boys both wore khakis and casual winter shirts. No need to be perfectly coordinated. If everyone feels like themselves, they tend to look better and be happier in the photos!

This playful parent photo is definitely one of my favorites from these Winter Park family photos. Such a silly bunch! I wish every family session was this chill and fun!
