Sarah + Ben | Arapahoe Basin Colorado Wedding | Rainy Mountain Wedding Inspiration

I have known Sarah since elementary school. We went to the same babysitter! It was great catching up with her many years later on social media. Since then, I have the opportunity to capture senior photos for both of her boys. As well as a fall engagement session for her and Ben. It was such an honor to also be hired to capture their Arapahoe Basin Colorado wedding this past June. It sure did not look like summer up at 11,500 feet above sea level! At least it wasn’t snowing on us for their Black Mountain Lodge ceremony and cocktail hour. It was, however, fairly windy and freezing rain fell from the sky. Sarah threw a poncho over her wedding dress and headed up the chairlift for her outdoor wedding as planned. I love that they didn’t let the weather ruin their special day!

Sarah and Ben had a non-traditional, intimate, micro wedding…but it wasn’t small on laughter or love! They each have two boys of their own, so it was really special to see the blending of these two families. Sarah is sure outnumbered with all these guys LOL! They may have had a short wedding celebration with a ceremony and cocktail hour, rather than full wedding reception, but there was still a lot to love about their day. Some of my favorite parts included their amazing wedding pie in place of a traditional wedding cake. Their non-traditional ceremony was great too. They did not have an officiant, and really just talked with their guests and proclaimed their love for one another. Very sweet and heartfelt! Finally, I loved Sarah’s overall wedding look…especially her accessories. She had a unique necklace with a long chain that draped down her back. Her sparkly sneakers were a cute and comfy choice. Finally I loved her eclectic, custom designed wedding ring. Beautiful bride for a beautiful day!
