Alyssa and Brandon + 1 on the way | Evergreen Colorado Maternity Portraits | Beaver Brook Reservoir

April already? I can’t believe how quickly the months fly by (except January…it was unbearably slow)! For the first post of the new month I bring you Alyssa and Brandon. Headed back to Frosberg Park and the Beaver Brook Reservoir again for their Evergreen Colorado maternity portraits. Considering we were well into the winter season, and how frigid January was, we ended up with really wonderful February weather. It was mild and sunny, we didn’t even need our big coats! As a result the hiking trails were not bad at all. I have been to this location in years past where you take a step and our suddenly knee deep in snow! Always nice to not have to deal with treacherous conditions.

Alyssa and Brandon have waited along time to be blessed with a baby. So to say they were excited, was a huge understatement! The joy just radiated off them…especially Alyssa. I am sure that baby boy is going to be so loved and adored by these awesome parents.

For their photo shoot they decided on two outfits each. Alyssa had noted that a colorful, flowy maternity dress just wasn’t her. That is totally fine! Everyone should wear what they feel best in. You definitely don’t have to feel pressured into wearing a dress, just because a lot of others do and Pinterest and Google are full of maternity images like this. They both wore jeans and neutral colors throughout. Alyssa wore a black top with beige cardigan over for the majority of the session. With Brandon in a brown and black flannel shirt. Alyssa also changed into a white top and black cardigan for a handful of photos. With Brandon coordinating in a gray, button down, long sleeve shirt. They looked great, comfy and cozy! They brought along some baby shoes for a few images, but otherwise kept things very simple. The session was all about their love for one another and the precious life growing inside.

This is definitely one of my favorites from these Evergreen Colorado maternity portraits. I just love that view, the soft white blanket on the frozen lake, and Alyssa’s pure joy!
