This session was mostly about Sarah and her upcoming graduation as a doctor of veterinary medicine. But her wife Anna graduated with her doctor of physical therapy during covid times. She didn’t get a big graduation or special photoshoot of her own. So, we decided to capture some images of her in her white coat as well. Also, couple’s photos and some family photos with their furbabies as well. But again, the majority were Sarah’s CSU graduation portraits. We went to “the oval” for their session. At first the weather was looking sketchy. We spent the first 15 minutes in the cars, waiting to see if the storm was going to pass. Thankfully, mother nature cooperated and we captured a ton of great photos!
We met in front of the administrative building. Since that is such an iconic spot on the Colorado State campus, it was packed with other photography sessions. We decided to start elsewhere and come back at a (hopefully) quieter time. I had spotted some gorgeous pink blossoming trees with their peak colors, so we started there. Next, we walked to the entrance road of the oval, by a stone Colorado State University sign. Then we got images on the popular and beautifully tree-lined path. Also by the statistics building, because I thought the balcony and intricate stonework was interesting, and would photograph well. Finally, over to the stairs and pillars of the administrative building. I had to edit a few people out, but totally worth it!
This is definitely one of my favorites from these CSU graduation and family portraits. It’s always a win when we get multiple dogs looking at the camera at the same time! I also love the joyful smiles on Sarah and Anna’s faces.
I had a little laugh when this squirrel ran behind Sarah. How appropriate for an animal to photo bomb a brand new veterinary!
Thank you Dr. Davis and Dr. Davis! I loved capturing these graduation and family portraits for you all. I hope you have the most amazing graduation ceremony. Wishing you all the best with your upcoming move out-of-state, and your veterinary career ahead 🙂 And with that…I am caught up on all of my blogging. I have many sessions coming up in May and June though, so I will eventually have a lot of new images to share. I hope all of the parents out there survive this crazy “Maycember” and have a fabulous summer break ahead!
For another CSU grad session that I really loved check out Gaida’s oval and trial gardens session HERE!
