Kian + Levi | Colorado Same Sex Engagement | Golden Ponds Longmont

Happy New Year! I hope your holidays and the end of 2024 were perfectly wonderful. Thanks for stopping by my blog for my first post in the new year. Years ago I had the privilege of capturing Kian’s Skyline High School senior pictures. A lot has changed since then. He graduated high school. Then the Colorado School of Mines, and has started a great career in engineering. Kian also met the love of his life, Levi, and recently they got engaged. Kian’s mom surprised them with one of my annual fall mini sessions. We captured these colorful Colorado same sex engagement photos at Golden Ponds Nature Area.

I have been doing fall mini sessions for a decade now (maybe even longer). Therefore I have dealt with every type of weather. One year, unfortunately, I even had to cancel them because the temperature was in the teens and it was snowing. This year we ended up with an absolutely gorgeous and warm fall weekend. The day prior was quite rainy, so I am very glad that didn’t stick around long. Golden Ponds is always a popular and picturesque spot. Holy cow was it packed though! We had to find spots that weren’t occupied by other photography sessions or by high school homecoming groups. Despite the craziness I am thrilled with the images I captured for all of my clients this weekend. Unfortunately I just don’t have the time to blog every session, but I have one more family to share from this busy weekend.

I am so happy for this young couple, they are such a great match! Hopefully I will be able to capture their wedding down the road too. Admittedly I have not had a lot of opportunities yet to work with gay couples. I am hoping that will change because I love and support all couples in love.
