For today’s post I am headed back to my old stomping grounds, the beautiful University of Colorado Boulder campus. This time for Claire’s CU Boulder graduation photos. The session was shortly before she finished up her engineering degree. So impressive! And what a beauty Claire is! Since the engineering buildings aren’t particularly pretty, I suggested the other side of campus for the session. We planned to meet at the old spiral staircases at Old Main. Once I arrived, I realize they don’t even exist anymore! The entire building was under construction. As well as many other places on campus. Honestly, I don’t remember ever seeing so much construction on the CU campus before. We met at the nearby Macky Auditorium to start the session.
We spent a little time at Macky, as well as the scenic stone bridge and pond by the languages building. Then we found some beautiful lilac bushes, and spent some time on the staircases near the theater building. We did end the session with a few photos by the engineering center, since that is where Claire spent so much of her college years. The session came to an abrupt end, because a rain storm was coming. The windy got crazy! So we parted ways and then I made the strenuous journey all the way back to my car. Bad back, about to have surgery, in a wind storm, with all my heavy camera gear…it was no doubt not my favorite walk I’ve had on the CU campus.
Claire decided to wear two different outfits for her college senior session. She started out in a short, satin white dress with lace detail. She paired this with some great embellished heels. Claire decided not to wear her graduation gown at all during the session. But she rotated out the other graduation garb, her cap, tassel and CU engineering stole here and there. Her second outfit was a showstopper! It was a navy blue satin gown with these long straps that hung in the back with a bunch of little bows. The dress fit her like a glove, and was very elegant. The other prop that Claire included was a glass of champagne. She wanted to look like she was at a classy party with the champagne, rather than having a college frat party vibe. Missing accomplished!

This is one of my favorites from Claire’s CU Boulder graduation photos. These lilac bushes were so pretty, and Claire is such a stunner too! I love how the golden light is coming through the greenery as well.

Thanks again Claire. I hope your graduation is a lot of fun and full of amazing memories. Wishing you so much success and happiness in your bright future! Next on the blog, back to Boulder for Jake’s surprise proposal to Katie at the gorgeous St. Julien Hotel. That turned out incredible, I hope you will check back soon.
