Ava – Class of 2026 | Breckenridge Colorado Senior Portraits | Officers Gulch

Today I am sharing Ava’s recent Breckenridge Colorado senior portraits. She and her family were visiting from out-of-state, and they just love the stunning Colorado mountains. I do quite a few sessions up in Summit County, but this was actually a new location for me. Ava and her mom had stumbled across photos of Officer’s Gulch and they really wanted the session there. I had to look into the rules for shooting there, and make sure the hike wasn’t extensive because I was only two months out from a spinal fusion. They also scoped it out once they got up to Breckenridge. The “hike” was practically non-existent. You get good spots right off the parking lot. It’s a great location! I will be sure to offer it to future clients.

Ava decided on let’s call it two and a half outfits for her session. She started in a tea length patterned dress with demure, vintage vibes! The next outfit “and a half” was a sage green long skirt and a lacy, boho top. Here and there Ava added a cream sweater. The skirt even got an ombre effect at the end because she spent sometime wadding in the water. They brought along a colorful bouquet to incorporate into some of the photos. We had some fun with that for sure! This definitely seems like the biggest trend of the class of 2026 senior season. Not just with my clients, but I am seeing bouquets all over social media with my colleagues as well.

The weather was definitely worrying me a bit. I especially didn’t want to make that two hour drive (each way) just to have to cancel the session. Although we dealt with some wind, and some dark, dramatic clouds. Ava totally embraced that moodier vibe. No doubt she got a little chilly between the wind, minimal sunshine, and that cold mountain lake though. She was such a trooper, and we got so much amazing stuff together!
