Happy September friends! A new month full of new possibilities and lots of new clients for me. Senior season is upon us. McKenzie’s Legend High senior pictures turned out absolutely incredible. She booked me months in advance, and knew she wanted Lookout Mountain. I have shot here several times over the years, but this was my first senior session in over eight years. It’s still “somewhat” of an unknown location. At least as far as senior photography goes. This was definitely the right choice for McKenzie’s session, because we got such great variety and the photos turned out beautifully. There was an absolute downpour when we arrived. That seems to be the story of this summer here in Colorado. We waited it out in the cars, and thankfully it cleared. But it was quite chilly afterward at this high elevation.
McKenzie wore three outfits during her Golden senior photography session. All gorgeous, feminine dresses. She started in a halter top dress in white, with vibrant flowers in fuchsia and orange. She paired this with some cute, white wedges sandals. In this outfit we got photos at the expansive Lookout Mountain overlook area. I am still so bummed that someone spray painted these rocks years ago, so not cool! Of course I can photoshop that, and I do, but defacing our state’s natural beauty was super lame. We actually found a random bouquet left here, so she did incorporate that into some photos throughout the session. As I have said before, floral bouquets have been really popular with senior clients. It was like it was meant to be, just sitting there waiting for us!
McKenzie’s second outfit was another floral dress. This one much sore subtle, soft colors and some dainty flutter sleeves. For this outfit we stuck to the trails behind the Lookout Mountain Preserve and Nature Center. That area has open fields of long grasses, fences, and lots of pine trees. McKenzie was pretty in pink in her final outfit. This dress also had flutter sleeves and a very cool crisscross back. This was my personal favorite. Such a great color on McKenzie! For this outfit we got some shots with the mountain views. As well as photos with some natural, rustic elements like a stone “bench” and a huge downed tree. We finished with McKenzie lying in the grass with the floral bouquet stems framing her face. I absolutely loved all of the images from this session!

This is definitely one of my favorites from McKenzie’s Legend High senior pictures. The view is breathtaking, as is McKenzie! And I just love these low, post-storm clouds over the mountains.

What a fun session, thanks McKenzie! Wishing you the brightest and most beautiful future ahead 🙂 Next on the blog, another MacKenzie (just a different spelling)! That’s another awesome session you don’t want to miss. Check back soon.

For the only other senior session I have had at Lookout Mountain, check out the end of Taylor’s photoshoot HERE.
