Max – Class of 2026 | Boulder Colorado Senior Photography Session | South Mesa Trail

Today I am sharing Max’s Boulder Colorado senior photography session at South Mesa Trail. Max is from Kansas, but really loves Colorado. He and his mom made a last minute trip to Colorado for his destination senior session. I didn’t have a free date during their visit, but I offered them the option of meeting before one of my already booked sessions. They were agreeable to that and they liked the looks of South Mesa. It was a very sunny, warm evening. I loved the variety of the images we were able to create together. Max is such a character, we had a lot of laughs. He truly seemed to appreciate some of my cheesy “dad jokes”.

Max had three main outfits during his photo shoot, with a few shots in a fourth as well. I really don’t get many guys that go dressy for their sessions, but Max sure did. He started in a suit, complete with dress shirt and tie. I really liked the juxtaposition of a rustic, mountain setting and a formal, business outfit. Next he wore jeans with a flora themed button down shirt. This was probably my favorite outfit overall. The pattern on the shirt was very nice and kind of unique for my senior guys. Next, he swapped out just his shirt and wore an emerald green polo shirt. Finally, a few photos a dark teal and beige henley shirt. Max added in his hiking backpack to make it a little more personal and incorporating his interests and hobbies.

Max is very adventurous and was set on climbing this tree. I didn’t think he could do it because this is an absolutely massive tree. I was totally wrong, he climbed that thing easily and I just had to document it!

This is one of my favorites from Max’s Boulder Colorado senior photography session. Funny that he is not a Coloradan, because this image screams Colorado! I love the mountain views, his great smile, and the hiking backpack is a great personal touch.
