The Dow Family | Broomfield Colorado Family Photographer | Fall Mini Sessions

This was my first time working with the Dow family. Danielle was recommended to me by a high school classmate and past client of mine. The referrals always mean so much to me! They joined my weekend of mini sessions at Coot Lake, but the weather during their session was awful. I only shot one or two photos and we decided it just wasn’t going to happen. Especially the ladies, long hair and wind do not mix! We had to push their make-up session back a few weeks. Who would have guessed the week of Halloween would have better weather than early October? You never know what Colorado weather is going to give you. This afternoon at Cascade Lake as their Broomfield Colorado family photographer was sunny, beautiful and a huge success.

I still don’t know the proper name for this open space park behind the Buffalo Ridge Medical Center. Even though I have shot there for a decade now! I see the names Cascade Lake and Buffalo Lake on a map, but surely the trail/park has a name. I digress. This is a great spot with a short walk to the small lakes, bridges, lot of big trees, including a weeping willow which you don’t see a lot of in Colorado. There wasn’t much fall foliage left this late into October. But we did find some pretty patches. As well as a huge pile of crunch, fallen leaves that still gave cozy, fall vibes. The Dow family looked great in their fall outfits. Sweaters, a flannel, jeans, and a dress on Miss Charlotte in a beige, burnt orange, and burgundy color palette. Really great choices! Not too “matchy”, but everyone meshed together well.

This is definitely one of my favorites as the Dow’s Broomfield Colorado family photographer. Sweet smiles, all those great crunchy leaves, and stunning sunlight…love it!

Thanks again Dow family. It was so wonderful meeting and photographing you four. Such a sweet and cute bunch! I hope to have future opportunities to document your beautiful family again. Next week Claire will be gracing the blog again. She really wanted to incorporate her love of swimming into her senior session. Since Brainard Lake didn’t work for that portion of the photos, we did a mini session at the local Broomfield pool in addition to her main session. Those turned out pretty amazing, so check back soon!
