Hello April…hello spring! Although I am sharing this blog post from a snowy Winter Park right now, so it doesn’t actually feel like spring. But down on the front range later this week it is supposed to be nearly 80°. Gotta love the crazy spring weather in Colorado, it sure keeps us on our toes! First blog post for this new month is Dana and Eric’s Westminster Colorado wedding photos. Dana is Facebook friends with past clients of mine, Alyssa and Dustin. She saw some of their colorful fall couple’s photos, liked them, and decided to contact me about their wedding. I am sure glad she did!
Dana and Eric were really sweet and fun to work with. She kept telling me they were awkward, but I didn’t see any traces of that 🙂 They had some silly moments, and lots of laughs, no doubt. However, they rocked the romantic, loving portraits as well! Their wedding was an intimate and beautiful day, that started with getting ready photos at the Omni Interlocken Hotel. Dana was calm and happy, and even indulged a little on some yummy french fries. It was certainly a nice change of pace from the chaotic getting ready rooms I am use to! Dana was beautified by the amazing Jade Darrough, of Jaded Beauty. I have actually photographed Jade before. She was our model “bride” at a photography workshop years ago. It was so fun to see her again, this time really in her element. Dana looked stunning!
We wrapped up at the Omni and headed over to the church. Their catholic ceremony at the Immaculate Heart of Mary was intimate and lovely. I especially liked the stained glass heart, because it was so colorful! After saying their “I do’s” we captured a few photos with their families and their maid of honor and best man. Even though it was winter, it was a really lovely, mild day. So I was able to convince them to get outside and take advantage of the golden hour sunlight before heading to the reception. Unfortunately I got us a little bit lost, for a few minutes, trying to find this little lake I had driven by. Fortunately we still had plenty of time to grab some great Westminster Colorado wedding photos, that I hope Dana and Eric will treasure forever. I sure loved how they turned out…keep scrolling to check them out!
After some alone time with the newlyweds, we headed to the Hideaway Steakhouse for their reception. They had a delicious dinner, which they were so sweet to include my assistant photographer and I in. We even got our own place cards…that made me feel pretty special!
After their guests were thoroughly stuffed, they cut into their cake. Dana almost forgot to feed it to Eric, and everyone had a good laugh. It was a fun, joyful end to a wonderful day!
