Alex and Mike + 1 On The Way | Golden Maternity Photos | Lookout Mountain Colorado

Gosh, it’s been a minute since I shared a maternity session on the blog. It has been full of weddings, families, and seniors lately. So today I hope you will enjoy Alex and Mike’s Golden maternity photos at Lookout Mountain. There session was originally supposed to be up in Breckenridge. But it was basically the first shoot I haven’t been able to make it to. I spent something like 5 hours in the car trying my darnedest to get up to Summit County, but it was not worth my safety. The roads were terrible and the snow was crazy! We decided that it just wasn’t worth it. If I had managed to get up there, there would have likely been almost no visibility of the mountains. We decided to push it back a bit, and move it closer to Denver for all of our benefit 🙂

We were still a touch worried about the weather on the rescheduled date, because it was windy and quite cold! Don’t let that sun fool you…because it was pretty frigid! We totally made it work, and we really had the MOST gorgeous light coming through the trees. We met at the Lookout Mountain Nature Center, next to the Boettcher Mansion wedding venue (which I still haven’t had an opportunity to shoot at yet. Hint, hint, future wedding couples!!). It had been years since I had shot here, but it was as great as I remember it being! We spent a good amount of time on the trail behind the nature center. As well as the rock formations across the road, before heading a short ways down the road to similarly named, Lookout Mountain Park.

They had to include their other babies in the photos too!

This is definitely one of my favorites of their Golden maternity photos. Look at that jaw-droppingly gorgeous light…and this adorable couple!!

Alex and Mike made a quick outfit change and we spent a little bit more time capturing photos of their excitement and anticipation, awaiting their first child. They didn’t know ahead of time what they were having. Although I have no comparison as a parent, but little boys are great!
