Kim and Dan are one of the many couples that had to change their wedding plans due to the pandemic. They were originally planning to get married in March, at the Mount Vernon Canyon Club in Golden. That’s actually one of the venues I looked at for my own wedding 🙂 The venue had to cancel their wedding (and I am sure a ton of others). Kim and Dan went ahead and changed wedding dates as well, and then they had to scramble and find a new venue. Luckily for them, Kim’s man of honor and his husband have an absolutely spectacular home in Cherry Creek. If you have to make a plan B for your wedding day…this was the absolute best plan B ever! Capturing their Cherry Creek wedding photos was such a joy for me.
This was my first “covid wedding” back, and I am so glad it came together so beautifully. This kicked off a much slower wedding season than normal, but one filled with so many tender moments and intimate celebrations. My favorite parts of Kim and Dan’s backyard wedding included Kim’s gorgeous lace wedding dress. She had selected this gown when planning a March wedding, but it totally still worked in May! As did the unique dark green and navy blue color scheme. It really complimented all of the lush greenery of this Cherry Creek home so well! Finally, I loved the sweet first dance on the back patio. You could see the crystal chandeliers glistening through the window. And they had their first dance song performed live…that elegant piano sound floating softly through the open windows! Amazing, and very memorable for sure!
Sweet little Fallyn is just about 4 months older than my son. It was so sweet capturing these special mother-daughter moments! I know Fallyn really loved being a flower girl, and I know she loved seeing her mommy as a beautiful bride just as much 🙂
Can you even have a “Covid wedding” without drinking some Coronas?!
There was no underage drinking going on 😉 The flower girls picked up the beers, and it was just too funny not to capture it!
I just love this one of Kim and Dan’s Cherry Creek wedding photos! Unique fountain, lush greenery, beautiful couple in the soft evening light…so dreamy!
Thank you so much Kim and Dan! What a beautiful and special day 🙂 I have had the pleasure of working with these two (and sweet Miss Fallyn) two more times since their 2020 wedding. It brings me such great joy to work with my wedding couples time and time again…especially when they become friends! I look forward to sharing those other sessions on the blog in the future. So I hope you will continue to check back.
