I have been so excited to share Kelly and Sam’s Colorado castle wedding photos here on the blog. What a gorgeous day at one of the few castle venues in Colorado! The historical Cherokee Ranch and Castle is unlike anything else around. I was so thrilled when Kelly and Sam selected me to be their wedding photographer. It had been years since I had shot at this venue with Jade and Chad, it was good to be back. Kelly and Sam had myself and a second shooter for 10 hours of coverage. So boy, oh boy, did we get a ton of variety! We put in a lot of steps and got photos just about everywhere. The stone stairwell, the library room, the top of the castle, in the open fields with mountain views, and my favorite spot was outside the wrought iron gates of the Tweet Kimball Memorial Garden.
Aside from the unique venue, there was a lot to love about Kelly and Sam’s wedding day. Some of my favorite parts were the emotional and sweet family moments. Especially the joyful first look between Kelly and her dad in the bridal suite. And there wasn’t a dry eye in the house during Kelly’s daughter’s awesome reception toast. She was so poised for such a young lady…and you can’t go wrong referencing The Office LOL!
Kelly and Sam had a wonderfully personalized wedding ceremony and that ended with them ringing the castle bell to announce their matrimony “throughout the land”. People use to believe that the sound of the chimes would ward off any evil spirits, bringing the newlyweds good luck. Kelly and Sam had a lively, hopping dance party at their tented reception. Then they exited their reception with guests waving LED fiber optic glow wands. A picture perfect ending to an epic castle wedding!

I have a bunch of favorites from Kelly and Sam’s Colorado castle wedding photos, but this is definitely one of them! I just love this amazing, dramatic location. The intricate stone work and wrought iron gates in front of the memorial gardens is just so stunning. Then I love the movement we added in Kelly’s dress.

Thanks again Kelly and Sam for trusting me to capture the most important day of your lives! I am wishing you a lifetime of happiness and joy together. If you are planning your own Colorado castle wedding, let’s chat soon. I would love to help make your fairytale wedding a reality!
