Julia and her mom came all the way from the northeast corner of the state for her session. She had a very demanding sports schedule, so we settled on a sunrise session. I only do a couple of these per year, because mornings are tough in our house! I am also an extreme night owl, and simply just prefer golden hour and sunset light over the mountains. We got started before the sun was even up! It was very bright by the end, but we managed to get a ton of beautiful variety during Julia’s Broomfield senior portraits.
We bounced around a bunch of ideas for a location for Julia’s session and decided on Buffalo Lake at Anthem Ranch. I like this location because it offers a lot of variety with a bridge, ponds, lots of trees, a small manmade waterfall. In the summer months there is a small field of russian sage, which kind of looks like a lavender field on camera. This is an amazing hidden gem I discovered a few years ago. Considering the closest lavender fields are over four hours away in Palisade, this is a great local option. My senior clients love a flower field!
Julia selected three different outfits for her photography session. She started in a tiered sage green, floral dress with birkenstocks. I think this was my favorite outfit. The color complimented her skin tone and hair color beautifully. Next, she changed into the most casual outfit, white jeans and a brownish gray t-shirt. The third and final look was a short white dress and ornate cowgirl boots. A white dress in a colorful flower field is a must have for so many teen girls. Julia looked amazing, and has such a joyful, kind smile. It was my true pleasure to have her in front of my camera!
This is definitely one of my favorites from Julia’s Broomfield senior portraits. Love that golden sunlight, this gorgeous young lady looking beautiful and feminine amongst the soft purples of the field. So pretty!
Julia, I hope you loved your senior photos as much as I do. I am sure they will be unique compared to the rustic farmland sessions of many of your classmates. Thank you for making the drive to come and work with me. You were a joy! On the blog next, Renee and Tony’s colorful fall maternity session in Rocky Mountain National Park. Such a beautiful day…check back soon 🙂
