Nicholas – Class of 2024 | Frederick High Senior Photos | Coot Lake Colorado

Hello there! I cannot believe a new month is already upon us. Sorry, I have been missing from the blog for a little bit. I celebrated Thanksgiving with my in-laws and then shortly afterward we headed to Costa Rica. What a memorable trip in a particularly beautiful place! For my first share in December I am bringing you Nicholas’ Frederick High senior photos. This is the first family where I have photographed three children’s senior sessions. Nicholas was the final one…they were all so kind and wonderful to work with! These are some especially wonderful young adults 🙂

For Nicholas’ session we met up at Coot Lake. I do love this location, however, it can be very windy! Unfortunately this was a windy day though. Consequently I was thankful this wasn’t a senior girl session with long hair. We were able to capture some awesome stuff…you can’t even tell the wind was really crazy. The first outfit ballooned up, so Nicholas changed out of that pretty quickly. I am glad we got some nice shots in that one too though, because these black slacks and blue and white button down looked very nice. Nicholas’ second outfit was my personal favorite. Usually senior guys go very neutral. I loved that he wore a vibrant orange sweater! He paired that with tan pants. It photographed very well against all of the greenery around. Next he changed into jeans and a nice red sweater. Lastly, he switched into a simple Frederick High tee shirt with his letterman jacket.

This has got to be one of my favorites from Nicholas’ Frederick High senior photos. What a gorgeous golden field and fall foliage at golden hour! I just love his vibrant orange sweater, and also such a great smile.

Nicholas is undoubtedly quite photogenic for a teen guy. Most of these young men feel awkward and make it a lot more work on me…trying to come up with corny jokes to get nice smiles or even a laugh out of them. Nicholas had a joyful, effortlessly natural smile though. I also love all of the variety that Coot Lake and Boulder Reservoir provide. I love the water and mountain views, the golden open fields, the wooden elements of the fences, bridge, and trees. During Nicholas’ session the fall foliage was just beginning to change as well, so we got pretty, little pockets of yellow and gold in there. I just love it!
