Recently I headed back to Estes Park for Stephanie and Juan’s Skyview Estes Park wedding. They had their celebration on Father’s Day. It was an extra special day because it was Juan’s first Father’s Day since they welcomed their baby girl into the world. Because of this, Stephanie surprised him with a sweet video montage with photos and videos on Juan and their baby from the ultrasounds through the present day. There were lots of tears and even more smiles. What a special touch!
Besides the surprise video, there was a lot to love about their Skyview at Fall River wedding day. It was so precious that their beautiful daughter’s dress was made to look just like her mama’s dress, with the gorgeous, detailed beading. She looked absolutely darling! I also liked Stephanie and Juan’s unique unity ceremony. They did beans and rice, to incorporate Juan’s hispanic culture. One had a jar of dried beans, the other had a jar of uncooked rice. They poured at the same time into a third jar. I have actually never seen this version of a unity ceremony.
Of course I loved all of the portrait time that we got to have in Rocky Mountain National Park. I almost always go to the Bear Lake Corridor. I did not realize they didn’t get the park timed entry for Bear Lake until we will already in the car. So I was trying to figure out a quick back-up plan. We started at Sheep Lakes. It was fairly windy, and since Stephanie wore her hair all down, we didn’t stay there very long. We headed out to see if we could find a little less windy location. Next we stopped at the Rainbow Curve Overlook. We got some great shots there, but it was pretty busy and quite bright, so we moved along again. We ended their couple’s portrait time just outside of the Hidden Valley area. I had spotted a field of wildflowers. It photographed beautifully and those are definitely some of my favorites from their wedding day!

This is definitely one of my favorites from Stephanie and Juan’s RMNP and Skyview Estes Park wedding portraits! I am so glad I spotted this little wildflower field near Hidden Valley. It photographed beautifully!

For even more Skyview at Fall River wedding inspiration check out Anna and Stefan’s gorgeous fall wedding HERE. I had heard through the grapevine that they were going to stop doing weddings. I haven’t been able to confirm that at all searching online. Their website is still very much active. I hope that’s not true! It’s a great venue, that I always enjoy shooting at.
Next up on the blog, I am sharing Hunter’s senior photos from Echo Lake. It was just days before the summer solstice, but you just never know what Mother Nature will give you in the Colorado mountains. He was in shorts and a short sleeve shirt, and we ended up getting a little bit of snow. It was quite chilly, but we got some great stuff!
