In just over a month Sarah and Scott will get married at one of my favorite venues, Lionscrest Manor. If you follow my work, you know I work at this venue quite a bit. I am one of the recommended photographers on their vendor list. I really appreciate this recognition and I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every wedding I have photographed there. Surely Sarah and Scott’s Lionscrest wedding will be amazing too. They are a super sweet couple, very clearly in love. Their wedding plans sound very beautiful and very personalized. Before capturing wedding photos for these two I had the pleasure of also doing a Boulder engagement session with them. I had talked with them on the phone prior, but this was the first time meeting in person.
I do always love doing engagement sessions with my wedding couples. It’s such a great way to get to know each other better. A way to build trust before the wedding day, and lets me know what poses and prompts work best for that particular couple. For Sarah and Scott’s summer session they decided on South Mesa Trail. No surprise there…always a very popular choice! These two loved the location in person, and we ended up with so much beautiful variety. Sarah started in a long floral dress, with Scott in navy blue dress pants and a white button down shirt. After a ton of great, romantic posed and joyful candid shots, they decided to change into one other outfit. Sarah wore a bright red, patterned dress and raffia wedge sandals. Scott wore khaki shorts and a gray button down shirt.

This is one of my favorites from Sarah and Scott’s Boulder engagement session. Sweet, tender moment, and a stunning, colorful backdrop.

Thanks again Sarah and Scott…I am really looking forward to your wedding! Hopefully it will be as fun and relaxed as these engagement portraits were. Try not to stress too much in the coming weeks. Trust that all of your meticulous planning will come together wonderfully. Next on the blog, back to this same popular and picture perfect location. This time for Kate’s senior photos. She is a beauty, inside and out. I am really thrilled with the way those images turned out. Follow along on Instagram for my most recent work.
