Today I am sharing the lovely Larsen family again. You may remember their first son’s Colorado cake smash pictures HERE. When it was baby Andrew’s turn, they decided they want to go back to the same location for that session too. The Golden History Park is always a nice spot, but especially during the fall. Before getting all messy with the cake, and milk bath, we wanted to get some updates family photos as well. We got photos with the colorful fall foliage, on the bridge, and with some of the rustic buildings and wagons at the history park. These four are always so wonderful to photograph. They are adorable, photogenic, and have such sweet, joyful moments together!
Their family outfits were perfect for fall. Jeans for all! Kailey in a burnt orange sweater and Leland in a blue/gray sweater. Lucas in a beige henley shirt, and baby brother Andrew tied all of the colors together. His plaid button-down shirt had burnt orange, blue and beige. Andrew took off the plaid shirt for his cake smash photos. Mama Kailey always plans the cutest themed sessions. I know it would be useful during these times to have an indoor studio, but the outdoor photos with the rustic building backdrops actually looked great!
For the cake smash we set out a black and white plaid blanket, a birthday banner, a colorful fall garland, as well as pumpkins and even a hay bail. The scene looked really cute! Andrew, of course, was only focused on that white and colorful sprinkle cake. He didn’t love his little birthday crown, but I think he forgot all about it, once he got that first taste of frosting. After the cake smash he cleaned off the frosting with a quick bath, complete with floating pumpkins. I guess we should call it a “smash and splash” session! I think Andrew enjoyed every minute of it. We were thankful for a warm evening, since you never know what Colorado weather will give you 🙂

This is one of my favorites of Andrew during his Colorado cake smash pictures. I just love the joy on his little baby face! And the frosting all over his face, hands, and jeans is just adorable.

Lucas just couldn’t wait any longer to get in on that cake action too. He lost his shirt and started devouring too LOL!

Thanks so much Larsen family. This session was so fun, and I laughed a ton! More people should really do cake smash sessions for their kiddos. The kids love them, and they always turn out so cute 🙂 Next on the blog, Alexandra’s Boulder senior photos at a basketball park and South Mesa Trail. She even climbed up on a basketball hoop for some epic photos. Check back soon!
