Brittany + Brandon | Engagement Pictures in Estes Park | Mary’s Lake Colorado

March 26, 2025

It felt like this session was never going to happen. We ended up rescheduling (due to weather) probably four times. I think this was our fifth date, we dealt with some wind, but nothing terrible. These two are such a beautiful couple! I absolutely loved capturing their engagement pictures in Estes Park. We decided on Mary’s Lake for the session. This is always a great location, and it worked out beautifully for them. We got so much great variety. We covered about every inch around the lake that was accessible. Lake and mountain views, photos on the cool rock formations, candid and posed, romantic and smiley. A little bit of everything.

I have known Brandon since he was in high school (or just out of high school). His older cousin, Phil, is one of my husband’s closest friends. We have run into him at various events and gatherings over the years. I don’t recall him ever bringing a girlfriend around, until Brittany. It was very evident that there was something extremely special between them. Then right after he proposed, he texted my husband saying that no matter what, they wanted me to capture their wedding day. That made me feel so great! I can’t wait for their September celebration. Their engagement session was the first chance I had to really get to know Brittany. I had met her prior to that, but it was a really brief encounter. She is so sweet too, and a really good match for Brandon.

They each decided on two outfits for their winter session. Brittany wore a cute plaid skirt, black tights, a black long sleeve shirt, and a fuzzy, white vest. Brandon started in jeans, a black button down shirt, and black cowboy hat. He was a little chilly, and wore a brown and tan plaid jacket over top for a large portion of the photos. Although it may have been a touch chilly, I could not believe the lack of snow for January. Very unusual! And we had the most amazing sunny, golden light, you would have never guessed this was a winter session. For Brittany’s second outfit she put on black jeans and a white sweater. Brandon opted to just change his shirt, into a black and white plaid shirt.

This is one of my favorites from their engagement pictures in Estes Park. I just love these rock formations. Such a pretty scene with the golden light over the mountain peak and reflecting on the water and this beautiful couple!

Oh, maybe this last one is actually my favorite. I just can’t decide! Thanks so much Brittany and Brandon. This was such a wonderful session. I am so glad we finally made it happen 🙂 I cannot wait for your wedding day, I am sure it will be fantastic! Next on the blog, the Mross family is back for another snowy session. This time we were in Breckenridge. Have a wonderful day, friends.
