This is my second session with this Texas family. You can check out the Winter Park session HERE. They came out to ski again, this time in Breckenridge. They wanted to hire me again for another snowy, winter session. This one did not go quite as planned. We planned to meet at Sapphire Point Overlook for their Breckenridge winter family portraits. The weather was pretty rough up there though. It was snowing pretty hard, and you couldn’t see the mountains at all. I was trying to scramble and think about a backup location. Since I had gone to the High Line Railroad Park with the Boehm and Carter families during the fall, I thought this could possibly worked. It was a far enough away location from Sapphire Point, and at a little bit lower elevation. We headed that way in hopes that the weather was a bit more cooperative.
This is a very different location than Sapphire Point. I am sure they would have preferred some beautiful mountain backdrops. The Mross family was flexible, thankfully, and were ok with the new location. The weather was a lot better here. We focused on snowy and pine tree photos for the most part here, since there aren’t great mountain views. We also captured a few photos with the old, historic trains and on a covered bench. I think we still managed to get a great variety of photos for them. Lots of smiling at the camera shots, and some silly and candid images as well. The kids handled the cold quite well, even though they are not very used to these low temps as Texas residents. The Mross family looked adorable in their winter neutrals of denim, white and camel.

This is one of my favorites from the Mross’ Breckenridge winter family portraits. Such great smiles in this shot! They sure love each other a lot.

Thanks for your cooperation and flexibility Mross family! If you come out to ski again in the coming years, I hope you will reach out. Next on the blog, the first wedding of the 2025 wedding season. Sarah and Tom’s Spruce Mountain Ranch March wedding. That was such a beautiful and joyful event. I hope you will check back. Happy April to you all, I can’t believe how quickly 2025 is flying by!
