Happy Monday friends! I hope you had an incredible weekend. I shot my 150th wedding this weekend in Boulder. Where does the time go?! Here is my first shoot of 2019 with the lovely Miss Mia, for her Erie Colorado senior portraits. Before the bulk of class of 2020 senior photos took place this summer and fall, a bunch of us NOCO photographers got together for a little group “shootout”. These took place at one of my colleague’s homes in Erie. She has an at-home studio, so we got to play around with some indoor portraiture too. While, shooting outdoors will always have my heart, this was a fun challenge too! We played around with some props and backdrops, and the result was beautiful. Mia is so photogenic though, it would be nearly impossible to take a bad photo of her 🙂
As mentioned in my last post, Mia’s family owns the popular Longmont dance studio, Dance Dimensions. I danced at Dance Dimensions from 2nd through 12th grade. Then I taught there until 2009. 10 years away from the studio, and I returned this year to take the adult hip hop class. It’s been way too long…I have missed it terribly! It’s been a lot of fun, but I am feeling my age lol! My knees, hips, feet, and stamina are sure not what they were in my teen years 😉
Since Mia has done lots of “typical” dance photos in her pointe shoes before, we decided to change things up this time. A few non-traditional poses in a field of wildflowers. I personally love the results!
This is definitely one of my favorites of Mia’s Erie Colorado senior portraits during this shootout. The light, the flowing hair, the fluffy white flowers…love!
More of Mia in the coming months 🙂 She and I did a golden hour mini session during the last few days of summer, and got some really amazing stuff!
Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead. Coming to the blog this week, another gorgeously windy couple’s session at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. As well as a maternity session in Rocky Mountain National Park with 2 of my favorite past clients. Finally, engagement portraits on Lookout Mountain. So basically, all kinds of beautiful subjects in beautiful settings!
