For today’s blog post I bring you another class of 2020 beauty that I had the pleasure of working with. Amelia’s one request was photos in a flower field. So I went on the hunt! It is illegal to shoot in the huge sunflower fields by the Denver International Airport, so those were out. In one of my Facebook groups, I heard about a flower farm in Hygiene that was allowing photo shoots on their property. I reached out to the farm, and set it up. There was a small fee, but totally worth it to have access to so many beautiful flowers in one place for Amelia’s Lyons senior pictures. All while supporting another local small business!
I thought we’d probably need a secondary location for her session though, so they weren’t entirely flowers. I was trying to think of what locations would work, somewhat nearby the farm. The Laverne M. Johnson Park in Lyons, seemed to be the best spot. This location has a lot of variety…a bridge, river access, lots of mature trees, and some big rock formations. We started Amelia’s session here, so that we could end at the flower field during sunset. This was absolutely the way to go…we were rewarded with a stunning, colorful sunset! The icing on the cake for these fun Lyons senior pictures.
Then we headed over to Sol Y Sombra Farm for some more senior portraits amongst all the gorgeous flowers!
I loved many from this session, but this one is probably my favorite of Amelia’s Lyons senior pictures. The mountains, the colorful sunset, this gorgeous smile, and some cool flowers in pinks and greens! I don’t know what those flowers are called, but they sure are pretty 🙂

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend, friends! This afternoon I am off to capture some ice skating engagement photos, and then I will snuggle up with my boys on this chilly December day. Quite the change today from Amelia’s sunny, summer session above lol!
Coming up this week….Sarah and Jesse’s Denver Performing Arts Complex wedding. You really don’t want to miss that one. One of the most unique weddings I have ever been to. It was incredible!
